Garba and Dandiya Raas are folk dances that originated in the Indian state of Gujarat. Both dances are associated with the Hindu festival of Navaratri. Unlike other Hindu festivities like Divali and Phagwa, Garba celebratons in Trinidad and Tobago are a relatively new phenomenon.
