Last Saturday, the UWI Afrikan Society held a unique carnival themed-concert that featured drumming, singing, and a storyline centered around tradtional carnival characters.
Lavway is a word used in Trinidadian Dialect (English Creole) taken from Patois with multiple meanings. Meanings include a voice (particularly a singing voice), and a song played by tamboo-bamboo bands to accompany the stick-fighting Kalinda.
