Last weekend, on the day before World Wetlands Day, the UWI Biological Society hosted a trip to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary.

The Caroni Swamp Tour started in the late afternoon and ended at dusk, giving us an opportunity to observe flocks of scarlet ibis returning home to roost. In addition to the iconic red bird, the Caroni Swamp is teeming with multiple other forms of wildlife.
